Former South African cricketer Nicky Boje is expected to appear before the crime branch of the Delhi police on Tuesday for questioning in connection with the match-fixing case in 2000.
Boje, who is playing for the “Hyderabad Heroes” team in the Indian Cricket League, was served a notice by the crime branch on December 5 asking him to join the investigations in the match-fixing case. However, the notice did not mention any date for appearance.
It is learnt that the left-arm spinner has contacted the Delhi police expressing his willingness to appear for questioning on Tuesday. The most likely venue for his questioning is the R.K. Puram office of the crime branch. Boje would be asked if he was offered money to under-perform in any match and whether any team member had then accepted such an offer.
